Dong wei is known as a famous Chinese painting artist nowadays in China , she is good at different kinds of Chinese traditional painting.

She graduated from Shandong art-design academy, after the graduation she became a teacher of her mother college. Some years later, she was chosen to be a professor of Chinese traditional painting and teach there for more than 20 years. During that time, she keeps on the Chinese painting study and took her postgraduate education in the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing from 1997 to 1999.

In the year 1990, she held a personal art exhibition in Jinan city. In 1997, she got the champion-prize of the “Hong Kong's return” painting exhibition, and the excellent-prize of the “ century-good works in Chinese paintings ” in 1999. She had many paintings published in the 《 art observation 》 , 《 decorate 》 and other famous professional magazines. Besides that, many of her works were Selected and showed on the national youth artists painting exhibition in 1980.

She is member of the Chinese-artist association, the Chinese-industrial arts association, and the Shandong painting academy as well. She also took part in the Shandong Political Consultative Conference painting and calligraphy academy.
